What is the Triangle Choke?

The triangle choke is a powerful submission hold used in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts. It involves trapping your opponent's neck between your legs, creating a triangle-shaped pressure point. This pressure restricts blood flow to the brain, forcing a submission.

How to Execute the Triangle Choke

  1. Create the Triangle: From a position like half guard or side control, trap your opponent's neck with your legs, forming a triangle.

  2. Secure the Arm: Pull your opponent's arm that's inside the triangle underneath your leg, trapping it.

  3. Apply Pressure: Tighten your legs and pull your opponent's head towards you, increasing pressure on the neck.

  4. Finish the Choke: Continue to apply pressure until your opponent submits or taps out.
